Spirituality and Religion with Rabbi Tedd Falcon

Rabbi Ted Falcon joined Travis for this episode of Create The Life You Want. Ordained in 1968 at the Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati, Rabbi Ted served in Los Angeles as a congregational and then a campus rabbi. In 1975, he earned a doctorate in Professional Psychology, with research focused on the nature of meditative and mystical states of consciousness. Since then, his work has bridged the psychological and the spiritual, encouraging deeper integration for greater freedom of personal action and understanding.

Through worship, teaching, counseling, and speaking, Rabbi Ted shares the spiritual gifts of Judaism, while appreciating that it is only one of the authentic spiritual traditions of the world. With gentleness and humor, he deeply affirms the integrity of each individual being.

For a show that lasts an hour, this is one of the most comprehensive and inclusive discussions of spirituality and religion, and spirituality in religion, I can remember. Two very bright, very knowledgeable, very compassionate people help us see what has transpired historically — and how we can find a comfortable place that expresses who we are.
I especially love Travis’ advice for the seeker: “Say out loud: Universe, or God, or whatever you believe in, or even if you don’t. I want help. I want to know something that works for me.”
And help will come, because it always does.
